Reflecting the weakening yen, non-ferrous metal prices in Japan have recently risen, with JX Advanced Metals, a benchmark for domestic copper trading prices, raising its copper price to near a record high.

On November 20th, JX Advanced Metals announced an increase in its copper price, raising it by 20,000 yen per ton (a 1% increase) to 1.74 million yen per ton, effective immediately, in line with the yen's depreciation. This price increase marks the second-highest price in history, approaching the previous record high of 1.75 million yen set on May 21, 2024.

JX Advanced Metals' copper price is a benchmark for domestic trading prices in Japan.

Following this increase, the provisional monthly average copper price for November is 1.7261 million yen, a 3.5% increase (58,500 yen) compared to the October 2025 average price (1.6676 million yen).

According to MoneyDJ XQ Global Winner system quotes, JX Metals surged 5.53% on the 20th, closing at 1,707 yen.

Also, according to MoneyDJ XQ Global Winner system quotes, the yen depreciated 0.41% against the dollar on the 20th, closing at 157.62 yen to the dollar, marking its fifth consecutive day of decline. During the session, it fell to a low of 157.89 yen, a new low in approximately 10 months (since January 15th).

Regarding other non-ferrous metals prices in Japan, Mitsubishi Materials raised its lead price by 3,000 yen per ton to 384,000 yen on the 18th, citing exchange rate fluctuations. Following this increase, the provisional average monthly lead price for November is 380,700 yen.

Mitsui Metals raised its lead price by 6,000 yen per ton to 559,000 yen on the 17th. Following this price increase, the provisional average monthly price for lead in November is 556,000 yen, a 3% increase (16,200 yen) compared to the October 2025 average price (539,800 yen).

Japanese non-ferrous metal prices are influenced by London Metal Exchange (LME) prices and exchange rate movements.
